Humanity In Harmony Concert

Welcome to the Daniel Pearl World Music Days Humanity in Harmony Concert. Our goal is to establish a dialogue among people through music. When it is difficult to talk about issues that divide us, we might want to act like musicians and talk about the music first, how we hit the right notes, and how they sound as we play or sing them together. The Humanity in Harmony Concert strings diversity together with guitars, violins, viola da gambas, Irish whistles, hurdy-gurdys and more. We also honor the memory of Daniel Pearl, the reporter, with the Humanity in Harmony Journalist in Residence. Daniel Pearl was a Wall Street Journal reporter who was killed in while reporting in Pakistan. The Pearl family founded the Daniel Pearl Foundation to remember, not how he died, but to celebrate how he lived. Pearl was an accomplished violinist, so it was natural that they began a series of hundreds of concerts around the world, using Pearl’s love of music as a focal point to create a “dialog in music".
